My sister gave a copy of a will from 1995 to the probate attorney, my mom had told me she had her will updated in 2015-16, the attorney where I called, that was the attorney that updated it have said they will call be back and send me a copy, times. They have done neither. My Mom made a point to let me know it had been updated, previously she told me my sister was the executor, it did NOT go well, basically the probate attorney, who also represents my sister on other matters, pretty much ignored any requests I made and ignored me when I said my Mom had an updated version of the will. This is frustrating to say the least, I live in Colorado and my sister is in Alabama, as well as my mom's former estate.
If your mother has died, the person named as executor (not necessarily you) should submit the Will to probate. If this has not been done, you can try to prompt the executor/beneficiary to do so by hiring a probate attorney practicing in the county where your mother lived and died to file an Application for Determination of Heirship.
