Which one of you is asking? If a competent doctor will write a report that ties together your mental/emotional problems, then perhaps. It is my understanding that bipolar disorder can be treated with medication that helps to regulate the mood swings. If you respond to the medication, then you would not be eligible for disability.

You'll only know when you file a disability claim with the state. No lawyer can answer your question.

Always a medical question. What does your doctor say? You have to be totally disabled.

Yes, you have a chance at getting disability . However, I'd consult a local Social Security attorney as soon as possible. Your treating physician may have worked with someone in the past that they consider competent to handle SSDI claims.

You should consult with a lawyer who handles medical disability matters. Any alleged disability claim, physical or mental, should be proved through medical documentation and testimony.

You would have a chance of obtaining disability if your doctor were to be able to state that because of your bi-polar disorder you are unable to perform any work.

Yes, though it can be more difficult. You need a doctor that supports the fact that the disorder keeps you from being employable. Contact an attorney that does disability work to help you determine if you are a good candidate or not.

Yes, you have a chance. I would need more information to tell you how good a chance. You should consult an attorney for and evaluation of whether you have a valid claim (I would be happy to evaluate it over the phone).

Medically yes. Many people suffering from a psychiatric disorder are denied benefits and you should seek legal assistance if you are denied. The other concern would be if you are medically compliant with the advice of your physician. Are you taking the meds that are prescribed in the proper dosages? If the answer this question is yes and you are still unable to work, you may well qualify under the Social Security regulations.
