Michigan law allows claims against premises owners for negligently creating a hazardous condition.

Of course you can sue the church. If someone employed by the church, or the church itself, was negligent and that negligence caused your accident and injuries, the church is not immune from a lawsuit. Most likely, the church has insurance coverage for this type of accident. Hire yourself a personal injury attorney to do this for you.

Yes. While premises liability cases are narrow in Michigan, this may be a "special exception" that gets you around the open and obvious defense.

If you can show that the church was at fault and you weren't at fault, then you may be successful.

I believe I have responded to you once before. The answer is yes. You have a right to bring your claim for damages against the church. You should consult an attorney.

The short answer is YES. Much will depend on who put the cord there, how much of an obstruction it was (obviously enough to have caused you to fall) and how noticeable was it for you to have recognized or not the danger that was there. This is a case to pursue.
