QUESTION

What do I need to do to legally drive passengers and be paid?

Asked on Nov 28th, 2013 on Insurance - Washington
More details to this question:
I am 18, with a Washington State driver's license, but I go to college in Massachusetts. I have a minivan for personal use, but I also drive other students to wherever they need to go, and they compensate me for gas and time. Do I need to register my car as a commercial vehicle, get some sort of passenger-carrying licence, or some extra insurance to be doing this? If so, in which state, MA or WA, should I be doing this?

If you are driving in MA you are subject to the laws of that state. You should consult with a MA attorney for answers to your questions.
