QUESTION

Need advise after a fender bender accident and being sued. I did not have bodily injure on my policy regrettably.

On Nov 17 2023 my wife was coming back from picking up our son from school while raining a police officer two cars ahead made a stop dude en stop after traffic light turned green for a vehicle stranded on the road the car behind the patrol managed to brake my wife slightly hit the vehicle in front. No damage other than a small scratch was noted the office asked everyone , my wife and son were Ok the driver stayed he was fine as well as the two Uber passengers. They were in a hurry for a wedding so my wife agreed to wait for the Uber driver to take them to their destination and then we interchanged driver licenses and insurance for possibly covered his scratch, our minivan had no damage. Our insurance paid 2k for his bumper , no points were added to my wife driver license, our policy did not increased as part of safe driver forgiveness program from progressive and we though that was the end of it. YOu will simply need to spend the money out of pocket  on a defense lawyer to address the injury lawsuit regardless of whether you find it valid or legitimate. Obviously some doctors and lawyers involved disagree and that means a jury or judge might also to whatever financial risk exists.
