my mother passed away two years ago, Her mother took a policy on her, i dont know the insurance company name, i am my mothers only child,

More details to this question:
My grandmother is suffering from dementia , she is being taking care of by her niece who is trying to get a hold of my mothers insurance policy , i have the death certifcate but she keeps on insisting that i give it to her, i know my name is on the policy , i think she is trying to cash out the policy without my involvement, ?what course of action can i take?

If your grandmother obtained the policy on your mother's life, it is her right to receive the proceeds. However, if you think the policy has you as the beneficiary, then you would have to bring an action against your grandmother, which will be difficult. If the niece has taken the paperwork, then you would also have to bring her into the case. The question is whether the size of the policy warrants bringing an action.
