My ins. co. will not pay me for damages done by Hurricane Sandy in North Carolina.

The Adjuster gave them a price of about $52,000.00 to repair the house and they only will give me $19,000.00 The house was condemed by Dare county and I hired an Engineer to determine what had to be done to remedy this. They hired their own engineer and he said something totaly different. They are using their engineers report as a basis for the claim.
It is this not unusual for there to be a disagreement among appraisers as to the value of the property. If your policy has a binding arbitration provision, I suggest you demand a hearing on the value issue. Absent that your only remedy would be to file a lawsuit in Dare County seeking damages.
