More details to this question:
2006 my husband died, I knew that I had had an insurance polocy with guardian insurance but had stopped making premium payments for at least 3 yrs. I emailed guardian explained that I no longer knew the policy number and asked if there was still a policy active. I provided all the info including my husband's ss number and my contact info. Iwas emailed back on guardian letter head that there was no active policies with guardian. I cant begin to twll you of the harship that next six years entailed, but it included being homeless and severe emotional problems for both of my children. On may 15 of this year i was notified by a private investigator that there was in fact an active policy and because of a new law enfored by the state of new york, guardian insurance was forced to find me and pay out on the policy i should have recieved right after my husband's death. I believe that by denying my claim, guardian insurance caused my family undo hardship and i woould like to sue them.
