QUESTION

Health Insurance Not Covering Claims

Asked on Mar 26th, 2013 on Insurance - Nevada
More details to this question:
My health insurance company has not covered a couple dozen of my claims over the last two years that now amount to about $130k... my total out of pocket for that time period should be no more than $4,500. When I've asked before, or tried to pay deductibles for 2011 & 12 they said they use having a lapse in coverage as an excuse for not covering them. I did not have a lapse in coverage, in fact my previous coverage lasted 30 days into my current plan before it ended. I have filled out the paper work authorizing them to talk to my previous provider, I have sent in letters from my previous provider stating my coverage dates. I have been trying to take care of this since Oct '11 and every time I call there is something missing or somehting they can't find, or obscure things they need ME to call and find out from my previous provider that require me to extensive knowledge of health insurance forms. It's effecting my credit and stress and I don't know what steps to take anymore.

Insurance coverage is an extremely complex and detailed area of law.  From the facts presented, you certainly appear to have a strong argument for coverage.  You should have your claims reviewed by an attorney who does coverage work.
