We had a pipe break in our home in Port St. Lucie in April , 2017. There was over 150,000 dollars in damage. After 1 year and 7 months we were able to move back into our home . Frontline insurance paid for the damage, however they are disputing the 27,000 costs that it has cost me so far to have contents of house packed up and unpacked. We have many pieces of art , antiques and collectables. All of the house has not been unpacked as of date. We have a library that needs to be put together and also another art showroom. We went to mediation on August 14, 2018. The mediator was provided by the State. Frontline offered us 3,500 dollars, we refused so the case was impasse. The mediator suggested that we contact a lawyer who would work on contingency. Is this correct and is this a case you would consider?
Yes, you should reach out to a, preferably local, attorney who handles home insurance disputes. Many will do this on a contingency basis, and your insurance contract likely also makes the recovery of your attorneys fees possible, so you may be able to be made whole. Dont delay, as it sounds like this is already well into the process.
