QUESTION

Any legal ramifications for a claims firm stalling the acceptance of my auto claim? Kept claiming it wasnt one for them to take. In fact it was.

More details to this question:
Tried reporting a claim for accident that I was clearly not at fault in on 5/31/2018. Claims firm kept passing the buck saying they didnt handle those claims. Finally after multiple supervisors in multiple departments, they take my claim info at 5pm on 6/1. I dont get assigned an adjuster until mid afternoon on Monday the 4th. Still no rental car provided (my car undriveable). What actions can I take against against them?

Not much can be done about a short delay on a first party claim from a legal angle. Unless you want to spend several thousand dollars out of pocket to make a point. As a general rule, insurance carriers don't "provide" a rental - but rather reinburse your expenses for one.  If you were hurt in the accident you REALLY need to retain a lawyer as you may experience much of the same jerking around and good lawyer can help you work through that and maximize your claim.
