He was already married but is now getting a divorced. If he gets married again before the divorce is final will he get deported his passport will expire in July? He was oringinally here on a visitors visa. Will they be able to tell if he gets married in Las Vegas that he was married before in New York, and will he be able to file for a green card? Will the person he marries go to jail?
Any marriage that occurs before a prior marriage is legally terminated is a void marriage and is not valid for immigration purposes. Additionally, intentionally marrying someone while you are still married to someone else is bigamy and a crime.
