If your fiance is a US citizen, then your fiance can apply for a visa for you to enter the US to get married to your fiance within 90 days of entry. It involves first filing a petition with USCIS and then submitting further applications and documentation and scheduling an interview with the local embassy or consulate. It would be advisable to consult with an experienced immigration attorney to ensure that you and your fiance meet all of the requirements for the visa to be approved, and that the proper documentation is submitted at each stage of the process.

Generally, a U.S. citizen may apply for a fianc? to get a K-1 visa for the purpose of entering the U.S. to get married, and then to proceed with an Adjustment of Status application to become a Lawful Permanent Resident (to get a "Green Card"). As part of the process, the foreign national may apply for and receive an Employment Authorization Document ("EAD" or "work permit") that authorizes employment while the application process remains pending.
