QUESTION

Can a lawyer help me obtain a passport?

Asked on Jul 06th, 2016 on Immigration - Virginia
More details to this question:
I was a homebirthed child and did not have a birth certificate. My parents filed for one at a later time so I now have a deayed birth certificate. Many passport sites have said that this will be an issue when obtaining a passport. Can an attorney help me get a passport even though I have a delayed birth certificate?

Working with an attorney is likely a good idea. You will likely be asked to provide early public records to document your birth.
