More details to this question:
Hi, I live in Staten Island, New York. My son’s mother and I share joint custody however she is the legal custodial parent. In our court order, he is with me four days a week and her three. However there are some days when he is with me 5-6 days a week. I am currently paying 283 a weeks in child support.

Hello there,  By law your ex should be paying YOU child support.  you should file a modification of child custody with the family court. if she does not agree to stop the child support, you can file a modification of child support in family court to stop it. If you want her to pay you child support that is up to you.  However, remember that custody is determined by how many overnights the child spends with either parent
