QUESTION

What am I legally obligated to list as my income on a credit card form?

Asked on Mar 26th, 2016 on Debtor and Creditor - Missouri
More details to this question:
I am currently in the process of trying to sign up for a credit card from US Bank. When it requires me to list my income, I am unsure of what to put. Am I legally required to list my actual income or achievable income? At my current job, I am paid hourly. I only work part time because I am also a student. However, if I wished to work full-time at the job, they would allow me to work full time with no questions asked. So for these reasons, what am I required to list on this credit card sign-up?

You are asked to  report your current  income. People make far less than they could for reasons such as being a student or not working overtime. The mere fact you could make more does not mean you will. Also, people can be  confident of  a raise or a promotion. If the mismatch between actual and potential income ever becomes an issue, I would expect the court to find misrepresentation.
