QUESTION

Does my Mother need an attorney?

Asked on Jan 03rd, 2022 on Criminal Law - Utah
More details to this question:
My 81 year old mother was in a car accident which resulted with a motorcyclist passing way. She was driving, making a left handed turn in a 35 mph zone. The motorcyclist was at the least doing double that speed. She has an appointment with the Drivers License Division tomorrow to decide if she will lose her license for 1 year. The police have not released a report yet on her case and she has not been given a citation. She was not impaired. She has had a stellar driving record up until this point. I am wondering if you think it would be wise to have an attorney sit in with her on this? Thank you! Marci Jones (801) 699-9304.

The big picture is her estate and assets past her insurance policies may be at stake.  Thus any admission during this dld hearing could be used against her.   If she wants to defend this matter and keep her license.  She should hire an attorney.   I did one of these hearings in 2021.  Provocriminaldefense.com Jake gunter
